Faber Castell (c1953) Cap and barrel Striated Celluloid Piston Filler. Gold filled trim. Striking green striated barrel. Nib: Faber Castell 14 kt fine. with excellent flex. Measures: 5 1/16" (128 mm) capped. Condition: Near Mint. This pen, manufactured by Faber-Castell (established in 1761), is comparable in every way to the Pelikan 400 series manufactured during the same period. F-C is one of the world's largest and oldest manufacturers of pens, pencils, other office supplies and art supplies, as well as high-end instruments and luxury leather goods. Headquartered in Stein, Germany, it operates 14 factories and 20 sales units throughout the globe.

PE-48: Pelikan 100 N with 400 striated binde - Prototype

Pelikan 100N. c1954. PIF. Red cap (acrylic?) with double gold filled band. Celluloid barrel has a perfectly clear green window and striking irregular 400 type striped. Nib: Medium, with semi flex. Markings are typical of the early Pelikan 1950 nib. Measures: 4-15/16 "(124 mm) capped. Condition: Near mint with no signs of use. This unique 100N/400 transition model utilizes a 400 nib style striped binde and is relatively rare, possibly one-of-a-kind, though green and grey colored striated examples have been described. Measures: 4-7/8" (123 mm) capped. Condition: Near Mint. This rare pen in near mint condition is highly collectible. Ref: Pelikan Schreibgerate/Writing Instruments 1929-2004 pg 65.

PE-46: Pelikan 101 N Tortoise, short cap top

Pelikan 100 N. PIF. Tortoise celluloid cap, barrel binde and piston knob. Short cap top. Marblized brown pearl binde. Barrel as is usually the case is very slightly darker than the cap. Cap logo: four chick, distinct, but not sharp. Fully restored with excellent function . Nib: Pelikan, fine with responsive semi flex. "Pelikan 585 14 kt". Measures: 4-3/4"capped (124 mm) . Condition: Extra fine. This relatively uncommon pen in this condition is highly collectible.

P-102: Parker Vacumatic, Oversize, Golden Pearl First Generation

Parker Vacumatic Oversize, Golden Pearl laminate. Fully restored with lockdown filler and new diaphragm. Excellent function. Nib: Parker bi-tone medium with semiflex and smooth. Measures: 5-7/16" (135 mm) capped. Condition: Near mint. No defects or personal engraving.. Very suitable for regular use or collection.

P-3: Parker Duofold, Mandarin

Parker Duofold, Mandarin (c 1926-8). Button Filler. New silicon sac with excellent function. Cap and Barrel: Perfect matching mandarin color . Double gold filled cap band. Very good barrel "Duofold Lucky Curve" imprint. Nib: "Parker DUOFOLD" fine with semiflex. smooth writing. Measures: 5 1/2" capped. Condition: Extra fine. No defects whatsoever. Very suitable for a collection.

W-32: Waterman LeMans 100 Opera

Waterman LeMans 100 (c 1987) Black Chased cap and barrel with open opera design. Cartridge converter. Nib: Ideal 750 18 kt. Broad with semiflex "Paris". Measures: 5-3/4" capped. Condition: Near mint. No sign of use. Made in France.

PE-45: Pelikan 400N (gray)

Pelikan 400N (1955-56) PIF. Black celluloid cap. GFT clip and single cap band. inscribed "400+Pelikan". Barrel: Grey striped celluloid (early). Nib: "Pelikan C 585 slight left oblique, med-broad with semiflex. Fully restored with excellent function. Measures: Total length = 128 mm capped. Cap length: 60 mm. Condition: near mint. The 400N was manufactured for just 11 months in 1956, the 400N is the least common of the early 400 series. It is relatively rare and collectible. PE-44: Pelikan 100 Demonstrator

PE-43: Pelikan 100N (Gold, Solid)

Pelikan 100N (c 1938). PIF. Cap and Barrel gold overlay/binde, Excellent engraved fine guiloche pattern. Pelikan "585 14ct" hallmarks on cap and barrel. Engraved "19-38", initials "HAYL". A few superficial small (< 1 mm) dents are present on the cap and binde. Excellent function. New cork. Clear amber barrel window. Sharp outstanding logo, early 4 chick, Nib: Pelikan 14 karat. fine-medium with semi-flex. Measures; 4-13/16" capped. Condition: Extra fine. This pen is probably one that was released in celebration of Pelikan's 100th anniversary (1938), The principal design variations of the model 100 were used. It is an excellent example of an early 585 (solid) gold pen suitable for daily use or a collection.

PE-42: Pelikan 100N Magnum

Pelikan 100N Magnum (Oversize) (c 1935-6). Cap, inner cap and piston turning knob are red hard rubber. Cap imprint "emege", "Pelikan Patent". Cap logo four chick/nest. Barrel: Brown-cream tortoise shell celluloid. Nib: Original Pelikan 14 KT subtended by the distinctive triangle, fine with 2/4+ semiflex. Measures; 5-0" capped. Condition: Near mint. The Magnum retains many of the features of the 100 series manufactured between 1929 and 1937 and pre-dates the initial production of the 100N in 1937. While "oversized", it is only fractionally longer and wider than the 100 series. It is the largest vintage pen manufactured by Pelikan prior to 1950 and is relatively rare, especially in near mint condition and very collectible.

Cap: imprinted, "emege" and two chick logo. Nib: "Pelikan 585 14 kt" , fine with 2/4+ semiflex responsive flex. Measures 4-7/8" (122 mm) capped. Condition: Near mint. This pen is rarely found in near perfect condition. Highly collectable.

PE-37: Pelikan 400 (green/green)

Pelikan 400 Green/green (c 1952) Piston Filler. Cap, section and piston turning knob blue tinted green celluloid. Barrel: linear striated celluloid. Gold filled trim. Perfect piston fill function. Steel inner cap sleeve. threaded piston knob, Nib: Screw in "Pelikan 585 14 kt" , fine, with semiflex responsive flex. Cap, section and piston turning knob are comprised of green celluloid with a bluish tint. Barrel: green/blue linear striated celluloid. Gold filled trim. Cap top logo has a small superficial small burr. Perfect piston fill function. Steel inner cap sleeve. threaded piston knob, Measures: 5-0"(126 mm) capped. Condition: Near mint. This early 400 series pen with green/green celluloid with blue-green tinted celluloid section and piston turning knob is extremely rare.. possibly the rarest of the 400s. Prototype ? Note: similar color pattern has been reported in 400N and 400NN versions.

PE-22: Pelikan 101N Tortoise
