PE-62: Pelikan 100 N Milano (Brown marble/tortoise)
Pelikan Milano 100N (c 1940-47). Piston Filler. Black celluloid cap with brown marblized integrated binde. Clear amber window. Pre-1947 step down section. Gold filled trim. Marked "Pelikan Patent" above clip band. Fully restored with excellent function. Nib: Very rare Pelikan 585 unique rhomboid insert that has been noted only in Pelikan Milano pens. It is fine with very good responsive flex. Measures: 4-7/8" (124 mm). Condition and Comment: Excellent near mint example of a very rare Italian manufactured Pelikan pen with a brown marbleized tortoise binde. The pen exhibits several major differences from a German made 100N pen. The tortoise celluloid integrated barrel is constructed from two pieces, one solid transparent part and one solid tortoise celluloid part.
This is a rare, historically interesting and highly collectible pen.

PE-60: Pelikan 400 Brown Tortoise, rare (copy) nib
Pelikan 400 Brown Striated. PF. Early feed. Cap imprinted "Pelikan" Unique nib: 18 kt, rare double vent holes designed for producing copies. Measues: 5-0 " ( 127 mm). Condition: Extra fine. Simultaneously with the introduction of the nibs with the Pelikan logo in December 1954, manifold nibs with specific characteristics were produced, including nibs with a second air hole designed to make carbon copies. The second air hole, much closer to the tip of the nib, makes the nib very firm with virtually no flex even with considerable pressure, thus allowing carbon copies to be produced. The pen with this nib is relatively uncommon and very collectible.
MB-70: Montblanc 322 Marbled Pearl
Montblanc 322 (c 1936). Button filler. Marbled pearl celluloid. This pen was made between 1935 and 1938 and was the successor to the IIIA. It has a Warranted fine-medium flexible number 2 nib from the 50s, which is correct for tier 3 Montblanc pens of the time (ref Rosler MB Diary pg 82). The button filler system is excellent and has been fully restored. The celluloid pearl shows slight amber discoloration, barrel somewhat greater than the cap. All parts are original. Measures: 5-0 " ( 127 mm) capped. Overall the pen is in excellent condition with no significant defects. It is relatively uncommon and very collectible.

This pen, manufactured by Faber-Castell (established in 1761), is comparable in every way to the Pelikan 400 series manufactured during the same period. Pelikan 100N. c1954. PIF. Red cap (acrylic?) with double gold filled band. Celluloid barrel has a perfectly clear green window and striking irregular 400 type striped. Nib: Medium, with semi flex. Markings are typical of the early Pelikan 1950 nib. Measures: 4-15/16 "(124 mm) capped. Condition: Near mint with no signs of use. This unique 100N/400 transition model utilizes a 400 nib style striped binde and is relatively rare, possibly one-of-a-kind, though green and grey colored striated examples have been described. Measures: 4-7/8" (123 mm) capped.
