This Montegrappa Papal pen (c.2000), is one of a specialized initial Limited Edition restricted to 476 examples, representing the number of saints canonized by Pope John Paul II. The total limited edition was 2000. This pen (045/476) is offered for sale without the original packaging. The barrel and cap are overlaid with intricate sterling silver .925. The values and foundation of the Church are beautifully hand engraved. The signature of Pope John Paul II is present on the bottom of the cap. Hand etched on the overlay is the silhouette of St. Basilica and the image of Pope Paul II facing the Holy Door at the inauguration of the Great Jubilaeum year 2000. The barrel demonstrates the Holy Trinity and the Holy Spirit dove. The filling mechanism is piston filler. St. Peter's keys, the Vatican symbol, is engraved on the two tone solid 18 kt gold medium nib. The barrel has a large capacity and the hand turned ebonite feed is unique.
