Piston filling knob has black plastic (resin) threads. Fully restored. Nib: 14K monochrome extra fine-fine (width approximately 0.31-0.35 mm) with good semi flex. Proper ebonite rounded split feed. Measures 5 5/8 inches (14.3 cms) long, capped and 6 3/8 inches (16.2 cms) with cap posted. Condition: Near Mint. The blue window, mono-color nib and ebonite feed was phased out in the early 1980s.... for the striped ink window, bi-color nib and plastic feed. Very suitable for regular use or collection.

This Montegrappa Papal pen is mint in box (c.2005). This pen was one of a special initial Limited Edition 045/476. The limited edition totaled 2000. The pen offered for sale is sealed in the original packaging. Absolutely "mint in box". The barrel and cap are overlaid with sterling silver .925 and the values and foundation of the Church are beautifully hand engraved. The signature of Pope John Paul II is present on the bottom of the cap. Hand etched on the overlay is the silhouette of St. Basilica and the image of Pope Paul II facing the Holy Door at the inauguration of the Great Jubilaeum year 2000. The barrel demonstrates the Holy Trinity and the Holy Spirit dove. The filling mechanism is piston filler. St. Peter's keys, the Vatican symbol, is engraved on the two tone solid 18 kt gold medium nib. The barrel has a large capacity and the hand turned ebonite feed is unique.
